How a business or shop looks is one of the most important elements in determining the character, quality and perception of your business and our towns’ streets. It is hoped to promote good quality shop and business fronts through this initiative to benefit both your business and our towns.
ABOUT THE SCHEME
The Shop Front Improvement Scheme was first launched by Louth County Council (LCC) in 2016 and due to the popularity of these grants the LCC has decided to make the scheme available again in 20202.
Local retailers and business owners in Dundalk, Ardee and Drogheda are eligible to apply for a grant to aid improvements to shop and business fronts including:
- Replacing fronts
- Painting fronts
- Replacing signage
- Lighting
- Replacing shutters and guttering
- Painting a parade of shops

The Shop Front Improvement Scheme is available to local retailers and business owners in the towns of Ardee, Drogheda and Dundalk and it is hoped to encourage them to restore traditional shop fronts, repaint shop fronts and to move security shutters inside their premises.
Shop fronts are one of the most important elements in determining the character, quality and perception of retail streets in our towns and it is hoped to promote good quality shop fronts through this initiative.
The Council would encourage business owners who are thinking about carrying out works to take advantage of the grants available.
